Along the rim of Crater Lake
Crater Lake, Oregon
Beautiful Drive!!!!
Crater Lake rim.  The snow drifts were so deep
Crater Lake--everyone I have asked to take our picture hasn't been able to speak english!!!!
Rapids along the river
We could see salmon swiming upstream in many places
We drove to Crater Lake, Or. yesterday.  It took us all day, but was worth it.  We drove along the river and saw so many people fly fishing.  The river is very swift with many rapids.  We ate lunch by Diamond Lake.  We could see snow topped mountains over the lake.  We couldn't believe the snow at Crater Lake!!  Some drifts were so high.  The east rim of the lake was still closed due to snow.  The trip took all day and we were worn out when we got back.  But, still managed to go to the casino to go to a dueling piano bar.  I won $210.00 on the  slots and that was a good ending to the day!
Bald Eagle that we saw on the river trip

Hellgate Canyon where many movies have been filmed

The boat took us to this lodge for brunch during our river boat trip

Brunch at the lodge

Getting back on the boats after brunch and then we got soaked!!!!  Well, Terry did -- I ducked!!

We are in southern Oregon and staying at the nicest park so far.  It is called Seven Feathers RV Resort.  We will be for one week and then spending 4 of July at Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast.  Northern California was nice.  Many homeless along the road.  I was told many hippies came there in the 60's.  We went to he county fair while we were there. It was a little different than our!!!!!  We left there and stayed at Grants Pass, Oregon.   We took a river boat tour of the Rougue River.  Many movies were filmed there on the rapids.  John Wayne movies and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.  The boat traveled 39 miles on the river, over the rapids and then we stopped for brunch at their lodge.  Came back very wet.  I met a lady while getting a pedicure and she invited us to a free wine tasting at Toone Vineyard.  We enjoyed that, but the wine wasn't what we liked.  Oh well!!!  We are going to Crater Lake tomorrow.  The internet connection isn't very good here, so I will have to post pictures later.

We are now in northern California staying at Mad River RV Park.  This is a very small community, one of just many along the coast.  We left San Francisco Tues.  We stayed at a KOA there and they provided a tour of San Francisco.  Our van left at 9:00a.m. and returned around 6:00p.m.  It was a really good tour and we have seen just about everything there.  Our tour guide would leave us in a certain place and return to pick us up later.  We got to ride a trolley car, china town, Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge (walked out on it), Lombard Street, and so much more.  Terry wasn't very thrilled with China Town.  I wanted to see a fortune cookie shop that was down an alley.  He was so glad to get out of there.  We drove to the Redwood Forest today.  The drive went along the coastline and then through the forest. The trees are so massive.   Both were so beautiful.  We also saw two herds of elk.  We will be leaving and starting up the Oregon western side of the state on Friday morning.

We have already been in San Diego for almost a week.  We will be leaving Sun and starting north.  Terry and I have had such a great time visiting my cousin, Connie and her husband Frank.  They have kept us busy.  Connie walks about everyday in the morning and I have got to meet so many of her friends.  One of her friends husband is retired Navy.  He was the commander of the Navel Base before he retired, so Jean gave me a royal tour of the base.  We also got to see Brooke's college friend, Merrin and her boyfriend, Dustin.  We spent one evening with them eating Italian.  The weather is beautiful here all the time.  This is the first time we really got to see June Gloom!!!!  The mornings are hazy and then the sun comes out about noon.  You couldn't get bored here if you wanted to.  Something to do all the time and Terry is getting the lay of the land.  The park we are staying in is very busy.  Lots of kids----makes us miss the grand kids.  They would love it here.

We arrived in San Diego on Sunday.  Before that we spent two days in Blythe, Ca.  It is along the Colorado River, but in the desert.  Very hot!!!!!  The people there love the river and it is not very wide.  They would go crazy for the Ohio River.  There is nothing green there.  Makes me so glad I live where there are green trees and flowers!!!!   We will be in San Diego for the next week and they heading north.
