East Washington, flat and lots of nothing!!!!

Snake River in Hells Canyon

A rose garden in the middle of town
We are staying at a park along the Snake River on the Idaho,  Washington border.  This is where Lewis and Clark camped on their way west.  The town we are staying in is called Clarkston, Wa and across the river is Lewiston, Idaho.  The Clear River empties into the Snake River here, so there is water everywhere.  As we watched boats on the river today a bald eagle flew over our heads.  Beautiful sight!!  We took a drive down the Snake River to Hells Canyon.  We are so glad to stumbled on this area.  Leaving tomorrow for Missoula, Mt.

Well, after two weeks, we are leaving Seattle in the morning.  Sallie and Bruce arrived last Sat. and we have been very busy since.  We shopped at the Market Center, rode the Space Needle, saw the original Starbucks,  took a ferry to the outer islands, day trip to Mt. Rainier, and ate at so many great places.  We have enjoyed our time together and will get together again in St. Louis on the 15th of Aug.  We have ticket to see the Pirates and the Cardinals play on the 17th.  Tomorrow we will go to Walla Walla WA., stay a few days and end up at Yellowstone National Park.

I can't believe we ate these little critters.  Someone on the cruise told Terry and I about this little hole in the wall.  We all enjoyed the experience of eating there!!!!!!

Well, another week has gone by and we are back from our Alaskan cruise.  We had such a wonderful time and saw so many great sights.  We were on the Westerdam ship.  The food, entertainment, food, ports of call and food was wonderful.  We stopped in Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Victoria, BC and one day on ship cruising Glacier Bay.  The weather was great also.  We saw whales, bald eagles, bear and many other wildlife.  We will be spending the next week in Seattle with my sister and brother in law.  Then on to Utah and heading east.  This summer has gone by so fast, but we have seen so many great places and made so many new friends.  If this is what retirement is like, the best is yet to come.

Every night a different animal towel in our room.  This one made me miss Archie!!!!

Well, we are here in rainy Seattle!  Heavy rains and thunderstorms today.  The traffic was terrible coming around Seattle.  We finally arrived at our park around noon.  Spent today finishing getting ready for the cruise.  We will take Archie to the POUND in the morning (he will live like a dog for the next week).  The limo service will be here around 11:30am to take us to the port.  We will put the rv in storage for the next week.  I will post pictures of the cruise next week.  Twenty four years ago we went on our first cruise and came back with a surprise-----it was called Brooke!!!!!

Timber yards are everywhere in the northwest

The flowers are beautiful

Mt. Hood
One of the many falls on our way to Mt. Hood
We are staying for a few days along the Columbia River on the Washington border.  We can set and watch the ships traveling towards Portland, Or.  This river is so much wider than the Ohio River and I guess that is why big tankers can travel it.  Terry enjoys the ships and our rv is just a few feet from the water.  We drove to Mt. Hood. today.  Just can't believe we can still see snow in July.  The wind blows all the time and I just have given up on the hair thing!!!!  We will be leaving on Fri and then starting our cruise Sat. afternoon.  When we get back, my sister, Sallie and Bruce will spend a week in Seattle with us.

Beach at Lincoln City, Or, lots of driftwood.

You can tell it is a little windy!!!!!

Music at a small farmers market.  We love the open markets.

Fish for sale at the market.  Many people who were on the charter fishing boats, sell their catch here when they get back.

Ft. Stevens State Park, Or.  They drive their trucks on the beach.  Terry wouldn't try it!
